KAP – Extended Medical or Dental Procedure Delay

Written by Georgina

If a patient is undergoing major dental work or another procedure requiring an extended healing period and will not be able to begin KAP:

  • Do not ship the ketamine prescription in advance for the patient to hold until they are ready.

  • If the medication has already been paid for but cannot be sent due to the delay, issue a refund for the medication.

  • Add a patient flag to the patient's chart documenting the situation and required follow-up.

  • Once the patient is fully healed and ready to resume treatment, a follow-up appointment with the clinician is required to evaluate their current health status before a new ketamine prescription can be issued.
